The National Events, with the exception of the Irish Mixed Foursomes, comprise of a regional qualifying event, provincial finals and national finals where the provincial winners compete for the much coveted green pennants.
The Leinster Events are open to all clubs within the Province; however the winners do not go forward to a National Finals – that does not mean that these competitions are less prestigious, The Barton Cup and Provincial Towns Cup are two of the most sought after cups by teams in Leinster.
There are a number of regional events that are aimed at providing a different type of competition that that offered at a National and Provincial level. With local rivalries to the fore, the events are highly competitive but also place offer a social aspect that the National and Provincial events cannot.
