Men’s AGM – change of time
The Men’s AGM takes place November 14th. The start time has been moved forward to 6.15pm to accommodate the Ireland vs Scotland soccer match that takes place at 7.45pm that evening (the match will be on in the bar after the AGM). Please do your best to attend – it’s an important evening for the Men’s Section, and it gives members the opportunity to have their say in the operation of our club. Please see the Men’s Notice Board for further information or contact a member of the committee.
Adopt a Green
There are still a number of spots left for volunteers in the “Adopt a Green”scheme. Thank you to those who have already put their names forward. The scheme gives members the opportunity to take ownership of an aspect of course maintenance. Volunteering involves repairing pitchmarks on a particular green and raking the greenside bunkers every time you play. To volunteer, put your name on the “adopt a green” sheet in the bar (near the computer). There will be a prize every month for the most improved green/bunkers.
The Sunday Lunch Specials continue in Tees Restaurant throughout the winter, with a chef in the kitchen every Sunday. Check out the menus on the Tees Restaurant Facebook Page:
Paying Next Year’s Subscription
Now is a good time to consider making some down payments on your subscription for next year to avoid having to pay the whole amount in March. You can make payments towards next year’s subscription at any time in the bar using you GUI Card. You can choose how much you’d like to pay and make as many payments as you want – just ask any of the bar staff for details.
Find the Joker
Don’t forget the Find the Joker jackpot is now a bumper €4,085. The next draw takes place on Friday November 7th (the Year End Presentations Night) and there are very few cards left – the jackpot will go soon. Entries cost €2 and are taken in the bar. Thank you to all who support this fundraiser.
