Leaving Personal Belongings in your car

A member had some personal belongings stolen from their car recently by opportunist thieves.  Please be extra cautious in relation to leaving any valuables in your car.  Do not leave anything on display and please report any suspicious behaviour to a member of staff

Paying Next Year’s Subscription

Now is a good time to consider making some down payments on your subscription for next year to avoid having to pay the whole amount in March.  You can make payments towards next year’s subscription at any time in the bar using you GUI Card.  You can choose how much you’d like to pay and make as many payments as you want – just ask any of the bar staff for details.

Golfing Union of Ireland Strategic Review – Survey

The Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI) is developing a strategic plan, which will include consideration of its governance structures, the mapping of the future direction of the organisation and the means to get there. Recognising that the strategy will be shaped by the views of those closely involved with the game, the GUI is seeking your input.

Should you wish to be involved in the process, please take 5 minutes to compete the short survey which is available here:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/guisurvey

Those who complete the survey will have the option of entering a free draw for one of three golfing packages for two at Carton House, to include golf tuition, overnight stay, breakfast and a game of golf on one of Carton House’s two championship courses.

Rules of Golf

The R&A have the unenviable task of looking after the rules of golf and to be fair they do their best in promoting knowledge about the rules in an interactive and interesting fashion.  As part of this they have a rules quiz on their website which they update regularly.  Why not give it a go to see if you are a rules anorak or a rules novice.

Find the Joker

Congratulations to Eamon Walsh who was last week’s winner of the Find the Joker draw.  Eamon opened envelope no 40 to reveal the nine of clubs.  The jackpot is now €3,377 and the next draw takes place on Tuesday September 23rd.  Entries cost €2 and are taken in the bar.  Thank you to all who support this fundraiser.
