President’s Prize – Mr Jim Meggs
The President’s Prize takes place over the August Bank Holiday Weekend (Friday August 1st to Sunday August 3rd). It is a 36 hole stableford competition, with the top 120 from an 18 hole qualifying round played over Friday and Saturday going on to play in the final round on the Sunday. The timesheets are now live for qualifying rounds on the Friday and Saturday and are filling up fast. The President’s Mixed takes place from 3.45pm on Thursday July 31st. The presentation of prizes, followed by a social event with live music, takes place on Sunday night from 9.30 pm.
We wish Jim all the very best for his weekend. Jim is a long standing member of the club and has been prominent in all fronts of club activities over the years, serving on the Men’s and Management Committees for many years and involved in many our teams. We hope that you are able to turn out for the events over the weekend to show your support and appreciation for Jim.
There’s still time to get your tickets for the Member’s Draw. The draw is being organized to raise funds for the club and will continue until August 3rd. The prizes are as follows:

Tickets which cost €5 for 3 can be purchased in the bar and restaurant.
Lessons for Juniors & Junior Membership
Group lessons for juniors (boys and girls) will commence in the next couple of weeks. If you are interested please call in to James or Paul in the shop and let them know. Junior Membership costs only €100 for the year and it’s still not too late to join this year. For the month of July, any junior that gets another junior to join will get a €20 voucher for the Pro Shop. For more details contact James or Paul in the shop.
Entries are now being taken for the Mixed Foursomes matchplay. The top eight from qualifying rounds held on the weekends of August 9th & 10th and 16th & 17th will go forward to the knockout stage. The format for the qualifying round is an 18h foursomes stableford. The full details have been posted on the Men’s noticeboard. Entry costs €10 per pair. To enter, put your name down on the timesheets for one of the timesheets for one of the qualifying days. Put the entry fee in the Men’s Competition Box. If you would like to play, but do not have a partner please contact James or Paul in the Pro Shop.
