Course Upkeep

The course came in for the highest praise from the professionals and visitors that played in the Pro Am last Friday.  The course staff have put in an enormous effort to get the course in the brilliant condition it is in.  Anyone who played over the weekend will have noticed the divot repair bags and stand at the first tee.  The stand has been kindly provided by Jack Murphy and the bags by Captain Paschal Bolger.  Please take a bag with you and use the sand to repair divots on your way round.  Please also continue to make the extra effort to repair pitch marks and rake bunkers.  There are busy times ahead on the course – every little helps!

The Pierce Purcell team traveled to Gowran Park on Saturday for their regional qualifying event. They finished an agonising two shots off a crucial top four spot, and did not make the matchplay stages.  Thanks and hard luck to all involved.  Next weekend, the Barton Shield team play in their regional qualifier in Rosslare.

Find the Joker

Last week’s winner of the Find the Joker draw was Lady Captain, Liz Bennett.  The card revealed was the 8 of Spades.  Liz takes home €30 and the jackpot rises to €2,015.  Entries cost €2 and are taken at the bar.  Thank you to all who support this event.
