Preparations for the Pro Am are ongoing. Members of the PGA will visit the club again in the coming weeks to finalise arrangements for the event. There has been great interest so far and over a dozen teams have been confirmed. The event is open to members and visitors, men and women. There will be a limited amount of teams that can enter to in order to guarantee your place and avoid disappointment please book early.
If you would like to enter (as an individual or team) please contact James or Paul in the Pro Shop. The cost of entry is €100 which includes a round of golf and a four course dinner with a PGA professional. The prizes for amateurs are sure to be generous and will be provided by Culcita Ltd., the event sponsor. There are already around 10 teams confirmed, so the best advice is to book early to guarantee your place.
The club will also be seeking volunteers to work as starters, marshals on the blind tee shots and as photographers. If you are able to volunteer your services on the day for 2-3 hours, please let James or Paul know in the Pro Shop.
Damage to the greens
On frosty mornings recently, damage has been caused to the greens by ice build up on golf shoes causing severe indentations on the greens. The damage caused takes a long time to repair itself. Members are kindly asked on frosty mornings, to ensure that they bang their shoes to remove this built up ice before walking on to the greens. The only alternative in these conditions if the damage continues will be for the course to be closed for the day.
