Presentations

The presentations for the Club Classic and the August Monthly Medal sponsored by Brooks Jewellers & Gifts will take place on Tuesday 3rd September from 9pm.  We would again urge all prize-winners to attend presentations, or have someone attend on their behalf, to show support for our sponsors.  Un-collected prizes will be held in the committee room for one month only and after that time will be redistributed as prizes in other competitions.

Matchplay

John Dowling & John Murphy have advanced to the Fourball Final and will face the winners of Paddy Bennett & Michael Kelleher versus Ned Fenlon & Tom Fenlon.  The Foursomes Final will take place on or before Saturday September 7th.  The 3rd round of the Singles Matchplay is due for completion by Monday September 2nd.

Handicaps – Exceptional Score Reductions

There have been a number of queries lately in relation to the “Exceptional Scoring Reduction” (ESR) and how it applies to your handicap.  Essentially the ESR means that your handicap can be reduced if you post two good scores (4 shots or more better than CSS) within a certain period of time.  The closer together you have your good scores, the more you will get cut.  The ESR is supposed to cater for golfers whose scores show that they are improving quickly and adjusts their handicaps accordingly.  For more information please look at the following article on the website: http://www.newrossgolfclub.ie/members/mens-section/exceptional-scoring-reductions/

Email addresses

The club sends out a lot of its information out via email as it is both cost effective and timely.  If you know of anyone who is not receiving the weekly and other emails please let them know that they can get their email address updated by emailing info@newrossgolfclub.ie or contacting one of the bar staff.

Paying next year’s Subscription

Just a reminder that it is possible to pay your 2014 subscription now via your GUI card at the bar.  You can pay any amount you choose and make payments as often as you like.  The amounts paid will be taken off your subscription renewal when it is sent out in the New Year.  For more information contact Anthony or Kathleen in the Golf Club.

Club Survey

A reminder that the Club Survey 2013 is ongoing and is available for completion until next Sunday night.  By taking part in the survey, each member will have the opportunity to have their views and opinions about the course, clubhouse and other facilities heard by the Management Committee.  The survey is in two parts and can be completed by following the links below.  Don’t forget to click the “Done” button on the last question of each part.
